![]() ![]() As far as clothes I only bought for the most part blue, white, black & gray so whatever he picked out was fine. my son said I was over analyzing the actual names of colors a name is a name and he learned the name of the color he sees which he said are more like what we understand to be shades of gray vs we think of as "green" "red".I realized the more I asked questions the more he felt he was "wrong" so I just dropped it because I was making it about my understanding vs his needs. I was confused as well I couldn't make sense of what he was calling red green and so on. I wrote the post in a hurry and was very unclear. I did multiple tests with numbers, shapes, and animals, and the results were the same each time: severe color blindness both red-green and blue-yellow. My younger son’s test results indicated extreme color blindness. I’m confused.ĮTA after rereading I realized I worded this post extremely poorly. Is he doing that? If you ask him what color his shirt is, or an apple, he’ll get it right. I’ve learned over the years when I see a certain shade of brown or gray, that people tell me it’s green so I say it’s green even though to me it looks brown. That said, my son has sometimes struggled to distinguish some colors but he has never made me think he’s monochromatic or completely color blind. Now I know online tests aren’t the most accurate, but my mom, husband, and daughter all tested normal and I’ve always gotten the same result I did at the optometrist so I’m inclined to believe the ones I took and gave my kids. Some of the tests stopped after a couple slides because they said he was too severe to test online. ![]() I did the number ones, and then shapes and animals. My 9 year old tested mild/moderate color blind, similar to me, but my 6 year old failed all the tests spectacularly. Anyway I have two boys 9 and 6 and yesterday I got curious because I read that a color blind woman will have color blind sons. My eye doctor was strangely excited when she tested me because she said it was unusual for a woman to have both of those. ![]() I am 32F and have mild red-green and blue-yellow color blindness.
